Chiropractic Care

Dr. Coscolluela applies treatment with gentle yet powerful spinal adjustments. Spinal adjustments are usually applied manually (done with the hands). For those who do not prefer traditional manual adjustments, low force pelvic blocking and activator adjustments are used as an alternative.

prenatal chiropractic:

dr. coscolluela is certified in the webster technique. webster is A specific chiropractic adjustment that reduces nerve system stress, balances pelvic muscles and ligaments and optimizes the mother’s pelvic function in pregnancy and birth. Click here for more information on how the Webster Technique can help during pregnancy.

hyperbaric oxygen therapy

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (hbot) involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized environment. In a hbot chamber, the air pressure is increased two to three times higher than normal air pressure. Under these conditions, your lungs can gather much more oxygen than would be possible breathing pure oxygen at normal air pressure.

When your blood carries this extra oxygen throughout your body, it yields a broad variety of positive physiological, biochemical and cellular effects. HBOT has been demonstrated in several clinical studies to enhance the body’s innate ability to repair and regenerate. It is used as an adjunct therapy to complement and enhance the healing process in both chronic and acute conditions. The typical treatment lasts for 60-90 minutes, during which the patient lies down and breathes normally.

low level laser therapy:

laser/light therapy (or photobiomodulation) is a painless, sterile, non-invasive, drug-free modality that is used for a variety of conditions such as acute and chronic pain.

how it works:

Housed within the mitochondria, the cell energy manufacturer, are receptors capable of absorbing distinct parameters of light. Think of these receptors like any drug receptors. When we consume a prescription medication, the compound is absorbed by the body and it locates a particular receptor, and based upon its molecular design, will bind to that receptor. Once the drug binds, a secondary reaction inside the cell takes place. A similar mechanism is observed when exposing the body to a particular color of light. During a laser treatment the light will penetrate the skin and is absorbed by this receptor within the mitochondria. Receptor stimulation with light promotes energy production, biochemical reactions, protein and growth factor synthesis, cell growth and proliferation and enhanced blood and oxygen flow. these factors optimize the body’s healing process.

neurosage:

Neurosage is a cutting-edge form of digital therapy. this computer software program uses a multimodal sensory approach to increase brain stimulation. Our brains depend on sensory stimulation to thrive and function in a coordinated manner. Neurosage uses specific visual and acoustic stimulation in the form of video games and programmed video files. It targets the visual and vestibular system to improve our balance, coordination, pain reduction, cognition, range of motion and muscle function. Applications also include improved reaction times, involuntary movements, developmental issues, ADHD, mood and behavior and kinesiology.

compression therapy:

the game ready system and therabody compression boots are both offered in the office. the game ready system combines cryotherapy with intermittent compression for optimal therapeutic benefits after injury or surgery. the therabody boots also use intermittent compression that is optimal for performance and recovery.

Active Therapeutic Movement:

The ATM2 machine is a therapeutic device that enables the patient to be placed in a pain-free static position. Once you are stabilized in this position, specific neuromuscular training and re-education are done using isometric movements. The goal of this treatment is to give the patient immediate pain reduction, increased range of motion and improved function.

pemf (pulsed electro-magnetic field) & infrared therapy:

pemf therapy is a treatment that uses pulsed waves of energy to optimize the body’s natural functions of self-healing and self-regulation (grounding). By inducing a mild electrical magnetic current into damaged cells, PEMF therapy slows or stops the release of pain and inflammatory mediators, increases blood flow of the cells and re-establishes normal cell interaction. With reduced inflammation, pain decreases, energy increases, and faster tissue healing occurs.
